Getting around La Paz: walking, DiDi, drivers + parking
How to get around La Paz from Centro: what's walkable, the DiDi rideshare app, airport transfers and day-trip drivers, the bus terminal, and where to park.
Centro is the easiest part of La Paz to get around. Most days you won't need a car at all: walk to breakfast, take a quick ride to the boats, and walk home for dinner on the Malecón.
On foot
Colibri Guest House is one block back from the Malecón, the waterfront promenade along the bay. Cafés, restaurants, bars and dive shops are an easy walk, and the marinas are walking distance too. Midday gets hot, so do your walking early and late.
DiDi
DiDi is the rideshare app most people use in La Paz, and it's inexpensive. It works like Uber: download it before you arrive, add a payment method, and you're set. The marinas are about a 5-minute DiDi from the house, and taxis are around too.
Airport transfers and day trips
We can arrange transportation to and from both airports, La Paz (LAP) and Los Cabos (SJD), and point you to trusted local drivers for day trips to Todos Santos or Los Cabos. Just ask when you book.
Buses
The bus terminal connects La Paz with the rest of Baja California Sur, if you'd rather travel the peninsula on your own schedule.
Driving and parking
If you rent a car, there's street parking in front of the house and around the neighborhood, and we can arrange parking around the corner at Hotel Las Gaviotas. Mention it when you book.
